A cacao ceremony is a shamanic healing, but without the hallucinogenic or "out of body" effects of other shamanic experiences. All cacao ceremonies are rooted in helping to rebalance the energies within us, and restore good health. By opening the heart chackra, cacao enables us to hear our true self, work through blockages and past traumas, dissolve negative energy, and help us align with who we are.
Cacao has been used in ancient ceremonies by South Americans (the Maya) for thousands of years. Cacao comes from the Maya word Ka'kau, and the Maya word Chokola'j - which means to drink chocolate together.
Cacao has an active ingredient in it called theobromine , which means 'Food of the Gods'. Theobromine is similar to caffein as they are related alkaloids, and therefore a mild stimulant. Cacao also contains anandamide, which is known as the bliss molecule. This is the same thing produced in your body when you workout and you feel a rush of good energy.

Giddy Yo Cacao Paste originates from hand picked Ecuadorian Arriba criollo cacao pods. The beans are hand selected, fermented in specialized huts for approx. 3-4 days, sun-dried to perfection, crushed and winnowed (the skins removed). These nibs are ground in a granite melange and naturally liquefy (cacao beans are naturally high in fat containing approx. 45-60%). The liquefied cacao mass is poured onto trays and solidified, next broken into pieces and packaged for shipment. The cacao does not go through a "Dutch" process nor alkalized in any way.
Raw cacao contains polyphenols called flavonoids that have antioxidant effects. The two primary antioxidants in raw cacao are anthocyanidins and epicatechins. Antioxidants work by neutralizing free radicals that can damage our cells. Free radicals cause oxidative damage in the body and may increase the risk of cancer, coronary heart disease, premature aging, and dementia. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3038885/
