OnePlus 7 vs OnePlus 6t | Will this New OnePlus be better than S10?

OnePlus is known for being feature filled which being light on the wallet. Will this new OnePlus live up to the brand's image? Read this review to know more.

A mobile phone perhaps is one of the most essential devices which is used by every human being on a daily basis. With the advancement in technology, mobile phones have made our lives considerably easier as everything can be done with a single touch. It could be online shopping, a Google search, collecting data for reference or simply shooting emails; a mobile phone is your one-stop solution to every commercial or personal problem. Therefore, it has become extremely crucial that all of us possess the latest mobile device; which is not only fast but user-friendly.

With the rise in demand for mobile devices, manufacturing companies such as Apple, Samsung and OnePlus are dominating the market. Every year these companies look to set new standards by launching a new model into the market, which is better than its previous version. Samsung with its Samsung Galaxy series, Apple with its iPhones and OnePlus with its new models are dominating the mobile phone industry.

A device that successfully captured the attention of the target audience is, in fact, the OnePlus 6t. This is available at a lower price when compared to its industry counterparts. The mobile phone launched in October 2018 and soon has become the most talked about product of the tech world. OnePlus now aims to launch a newer version in the summer of 2019 with OnePlus 7. Let us now analyze and talk about oneplus 7 vs oneplus 6t review.

Lets look at some of the differences between the concerned mobile devices by drawing a comparison. Here is what we found:

How does it look when you hold these phones?

The first notable difference between the two is, in fact, the display. OnePlus 6T has a display of 6.41 inches which is approximately 16.28cm with a 402 PPI. On the other hand, OnePlus 7 has a broader display of 6.5 inches with 396 PPI. As per the experts and the users(I am one of them) who already possess this device, OnePlus 6t has a big and vibrant screen. It is designed to perfection with a classic OnePlus look to it. I have been using 6t since its launch, and I do not see how few inches can get users excited about the looks of OnePlus 7.

OnePlus 6T is available in two colors of Midnight black and Mirror black which gives it an elegant appeal. With regards to OnePlus 7, speculations are still being made about the mobile phone design, as it is yet to launch. However, better things are expected out of the phone as the audience eagerly awaits its much-anticipated launch. I am sure that they are going to retain Mirror black, since it was a big hit with 6T. Apart from this they might add another color based on any hollywood movie that launches along with the phone. We had seen this with OnePlus 6 StarWars Edition, and so on.

Is the camera on par with Google Pixel?

Now everyone is obsessed with clicking picture as today’s world is dominated with social media, specially Instagram and Snapchat. Therefore, it is critical that a mobile phone has an excellent camera so that it can fulfil the present demand of the market. OnePlus 6t comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera which is paired with a 20-megapixel secondary camera.

As per the confirmed specifications of OnePlus 7, it looks like the mobile phone will feature a primary camera of 48 megapixels along with a 20-megapixel secondary camera. Megapixel is the only metric which users are concerned with, as of now. This helps them understand the phones ability to click life like images. Further these life like images should help in editing and zooming in for better quality. Thus, in the field of camera specifications, the OnePlus 7 edges over the OnePlus 6t.

How fast are these phones?

In terms of performance, the OnePlus 6t has an incredible battery life due to its 3700 mAh battery and can be utilised through out the day. The overall display and touchscreen functions are also impressive. The only aspect which the mobile phone falls a little short on is its glitchy fingerprint scanner, which often is slow to detect a thumbprint or at times fails miserably. Armed with an octa-core [4x2.8 Ghz] processor, with RAM of 6GB and internal storage space of 128GB, the OnePlus 6t tops the chart when it comes to performance.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 7 comes with a 4150 mAh battery, with 8GM of RAM and internal storage of 128GB. It also features an octa-core processor just like its cousin the 6t. Overall both the phones are well balanced and promises to give optimum performance to its users. We can expect 256GB or a higher storage capacity phone too.

Can one afford the new edition of OnePlus

Pricing is also another critical factor which every buyer primarily considers. One plus 6t starts from $749 (for the 128GB storage) where as OnePlus 7 can see a slight bump up by $50 or $100.

Few Things OnePlus7 Might Have

  • Wireless charging for convenience
  • Better water resistant phone like Samsung
  • A Micro SD card slot so that any user can extend memory at a lower cost
  • Stereo speakers for enjoying music.

Should one buy OnePlus 7?

Both the mobile devices are extremely impressive at their particular price range. However, when it comes to selecting any one of the two, it can be concluded that the OnePlus 7 has a slight advantage over the OnePlus 6t. Not only does it have a powerful battery but also has a better camera. Hopefully, this Oneplus 7 vs Oneplus 6t review has helped you get more insight about the two elite mobile devices. Most of the facts here are rumoured, but looking at how every new OnePlus comes with few added goodies, we can expect this review to be a close match to the actual OnePlus7.

From Plasma to LCD, and LED to touchscreen, the display screen technology has come a long way in the past two decades. Undoubtedly, mainstream companies such as Nokia, Samsung and Apple have contributed a lot towards innovative technologies to enhance the user experience. Not to forget, the invention of active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays in 2008 that is acting as the basis for next-gen devices. Building upon this technology, Samsung and LG rolled out their curved-screen smartphones in 2014. This launch has fuelled Samsung’s ambitions to release infold, outfold, rollable and stretchable AMOLED displays. Notably, Apple has patented designs of rollable smartphone which folds like an ancient scroll.

Let’s dive a little deeper into the flexible screen technology, which seems to conquer the future soon.

Flexible Display Technology...

Literally, a flexible display screen is an electronic visual display which is movable in nature. This is a type of OLED that has a flexible plastic substrate on which the electroluminescent organic semiconductor is deposited. Or, in layman’s language, a flexible screen is a display made up of flexible materials like plastic instead of traditional rigid glass. Unlike the prevalent traditional flat-screen displays that are used in the majority of electronic devices, the flexible screens will be bendable.

Better longevity: As these displays will be made out of plastic, they might offer more longevity as compared to the traditional glass.

Lightweight: As it is a known fact that plastic is lighter than glass, flexible display screens will be definitely lighter than the traditional glass displays.

Leaner dimensions: The flexible display screens have the capability to be manufactured in thinner dimensions and different shapes unlike the traditional rectangular screen.

Unbreakable: There might be a possibility to incorporate unbreakable plastic into the flexible display screens.

Inflexibility of circuit board: There are a lot of things going on with a flexible display. There are many different materials – conductors, semiconductors, insulators, substrates – that can be combined into a very thin film.

Less reliable: As there is a flexible plastic substrate on which the electroluminescent organic semiconductor is deposited, there might be incidents of accumulation of screen diodes on the foldable portion of the screen after a long span of wear and tear.

The flexible smartphones by Samsung, including Galaxy X or Galaxy F, will feature two inside panels with the foldable technology and one outside panel. On being unfolded, it will have a 7.3-inch screen. Also, the technology giant plans to roll it out at a cost ranging from $1850 to $2000. Apart from Samsung, Huawei is also rumoured to be launching smartphones with flexible screens in early 2019. Moreover, the company is said to launch these smartphones with flexible screens at a competitive price, thus giving an edge to Samsung.

While a lot of talking has been done about flexible display screens, those with a soft corner for technology can’t wait for long to bend and stretch their smartphones or have a laptop-like experience on their mobile devices!
