Avoid these Mistakes while Writing an Answer in IAS Exam

Being conducted by UPSC, IAS exams are recognized as one of the most difficult as well as most reputed competitive government examinations in India. A lot of people apply every year and fight for a few seats which sometimes do not even match 5 percent of the total aspirants. But, the fact that the exam itself is so hard to get through, people find it very difficult to get good marks and ranks even after practising and studying throughout the year.

The reason behind this failure is the result of not being able to answer the questions in the right manner. Thus, it is one of the most important skills that you should learn in order to prepare for IAS exams. Surely, joining an IAS preparation coaching class is the best possible option as they offer a complete setup as well as provide all the necessary items that are required to be learned by the students. Classes like EDEN IAS in Delhi are ranked as some of the best places to join for the preparation of CSE.

Although, if you are one of them who either do not have access to any good institution or have some financial problems which are stopping you from joining one of the institutions, then this article is perfect for you. Here, we will talk about things that you should never do while writing an answer in your IAS Exam. This will help you to secure more marks and you will be able to achieve a better rank and also a dream job placement. So, let's get started.

Never leave a question Unanswered: Trust me, there is nothing worse than leaving your answer sheet blank or even leaving a question that is mandatory to be answered. The reason behind this is that when an examiner sees that you have not to answer a question, the first thought that comes in their mind is that you did not even try to frame an answer for the question. So, do not hold back and write anything and everything that you can remember regarding the topic.

Maintain the Word limit: Another major area where most of the aspirants fail to follow the right pattern is while you are supposed to maintain the word limit of the answers. Word limit is an essential element of the exam and in order to maintain it, you are supposed to follow your answer in such a manner that you fill in all the details as well as wrap up your answer in the specified word limit.

Never use Jargons: When I say never use Jargons, I mean that you should never ever use them. Trust me, it will leave more of a bad impression than to make something good out of it. The reason behind this is that not every examiner that checks your examination paper is a master in what the examination is about and all they know about the topic is enough to check the papers. So, do not confuse them by adding terms that are actually correct but they have no idea about what it is.

So, these are the things that you should avoid while writing answers in IAS exams. Also, joining a coaching institution is a great idea. So, think about it too.
