Kabadiwala Angel funding story

The greatest threat to our mankind is believing that some else will save it. Here are those someones in the waste management sector who dared the world to save our planet earth. Do you have an unwanted waste in your home and waiting for the Scrap collector, Introducing you to Kabadiwala, which is an online waste management startup based out of Bhopal.  Started in 2013 with a strong initiative of managing the waste sector by Mr Anurag Asati and Mr Kavindra Raghuwanshi who are working as the co-founders. Mr Sameer is working as the CTO for Kabadiwala. It is recognised by the Startup India initiative for its social consciousness.

Kabadiwala is a doorstep service intends to help out people to sell their household junks like Newspaper, iron, plastic books, copies, metal etc. and get paid for it. It is intended to recycle, reuse, reduce up-cycle and resell the scrap. You have a web version and a mobile version. You can find the prices listed in the below image. You can simply add the items and request for a pickup. The delivery guy will be at your doorsteps to pick and will pay you money. As simple as ordering an item from an e-commerce site, 

 

ZIn April 2019, Kabadiwala has raised the 3 crores of equity funding from Early stage investors, HNI's and other seniors. One of the investors is Mr Naveen Reddy whos heading the supply chain at Unilever Beehive capitals founder Mr Bhushan Gajaria, Angel Investor Mr Vishal Thaker, Another Angel investor Mr Suresh Parekh and others. 

Waste Management industry is expected to grow over $ 1 Billion by 2020 and there are other startups sharing the space. Delhi based e-waste management Startup   Karma recycling has raised funding Infuse ventures and Low Carbon Enterprise Fund (LCEF). Bengaluru based Saahas Waste Management raised funding from Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Upaya Social Ventur. These companies are working on Electronic waste management and general waste management sectors, Netherland based Waste Management Company Sweepsmart has collaborated with developing countries like India to make smart waste management available for everyone. Sweepsmart works with local vendors in Dry waste management in India and Indonesia.

When you put the whole picture together, Recycling is the right thing to do. So Going Green and Reduce, Reuse and Recycle is the best mantra for our generation to save this earth for the future generation.
