Benefits and Usage of Natural Skin Oil on Your Skin
Check out the benefits and usage of Natural Skin Oil on your skin to keep it hydrated. These oils are light and will nourish your skin naturally without any harmful effects.
We have all been told about the benefits of moisturizing our skin — of using a good moisturizer at least twice a day and cold cream in winters. In addition, we need separate products for our face and body. As a result, we have a plethora of expensive creams, lotions, and moisturizers cluttering up our cabinets. But did you know that skincare is really not that complicated? There is a simple and easy solution to hydrating your skin and you will need just one product to meet all your needs — Natural Skin Oil.
Skin oils have a natural ability to nourish the skin and keep it hydrated. Many people think that skin oils will leave the skin greasy and cause breakouts when the reality is quite different. Organic and unadulterated skin oils have no impurities. Unlike the heavy chemical-based moisturizers, they will leave no harmful effects.
The Benefit of Skin Oils
The common skin oils are coconut oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, rosehip seed oil, avocado oil, flaxseed oil, lavender oil, olive oil, and tea tree oil. These oils are light on the skin and do not leave a greasy residue. Other benefits include:
Reducing breakouts: Studies have shown that people prone to breakouts are deficient in fatty acids known as linoleic acid. Application of linoleum acid was found to reduce these breakouts. Natural sources of linoleic acid are skin oils! In other words, skin oils offer a completely natural way of loading up on this essential fatty acid.
Regulating skin’s sebum: Our skin often produces more or less sebum according to the conditions. High sebum results in breakouts. Natural skin oil can actually ‘trick’ the body to produce less sebum. When you apply the oil regularly the body feels hydrated and produces less oil as a result.
Antioxidants: Studies show that people prone to acne experience more sebum oxidation. This is the oxidation of the skin’s own oil. Sebum oxidation clogs the pores, which in turn causes inflammations. This is believed to be the trigger for acne. The antioxidants are very good at preventing, reducing chances and severity of breakouts.
Removing trapped oil: What causes zits or blackheads? When the oil gets caught in the body and mixes with dead skin cells, we get these awful breakouts on the skin. Apart from the natural secretion of oil by the body, the grease and pollution in the environment add to the grease on the skin. This is the grease that skin oils can remove. Many oils can actually pull the trapped oil in the skin — from our face and body.

Using Natural Skin Oil
How do you use face oils? It should be according to the type of skin you have and where you are applying it.
1) On the Body
You can mix a few drops of oil in your natural bath oils for some easy moisturizing! Apply the oil immediately after your both when the skin is clean and slightly damp. Take the oil and massage it in. It will absorb it. Give yourself a good massage if you have time. If you are in a hurry, use the oil a little sparingly and massage it quickly. You can wash off any residue in a quick shower. Pat dries your body at the end.
2) On the Face
As a Moisturizer: Skin oils are powerful. So, use these sparingly. Cleanse your skin before applying the oil. Follow this up with a toner. Now take a small amount of oil and carefully massage it in. Remember, a little goes a long way. You can mix a few drops in your regular moisturizer. If you are applying it separately, use the oil after the moisturizer. If you use the oil first, it will seal the skin and not allow the moisturizer to work. When applied at the end, the oil seals in the moisturizer.
As a make-up cleanser: Put a few drops of oil on a cotton pad and use it to wipe off the make-up from the face.
As a Daily Cleanser: This may seem counter-productive, but you can use natural skin oil to clean the oil from your face! It will draw out the oil from the pores and can be just wiped off. Just take the oil and massage it on to your face. Use strokes that move up and out. Now soak a face towel in warm water. Place it on your face. The steam from the towel will draw out the impurities! Leave it on for a few minutes and then wipe your face with the clean side of the towel. Not only will your skin feel clean, but it will also be hydrated!
