When you want your kids to bond and learn how to share, then you need to design a shared bedroom for them where they can learn to share waves of laughter and secrets. Oil painting is the process in which color pigments are suspended in a drying oil.

To start an oil painting there are some basic requirements as in:

The range of small to large paintbrushes

Linseed oil (most important)

An easel

Canvas board

Turpentine oil (for washing brushes)

A basic color palette

(Ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, ivory black, transparent oxide brown, cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, cadmium red, raw umber, alizarin crimson, titanium white)

Other requirements according to every individual differ as cleaning equipments or more diverse colors.

Steps

Stain the canvas with a thin coat of paint and solvent using earth tone like raw umber; this is generally done to get rid of any white on the canvas.

Draw roughly on a canvas with a graphite pencil

Take linseed oil for the color and turpentine oil for the brushes

Paint the first coat over the structure by mixing the wet colors as it can’t be mixed after it is dry. There are various brush techniques you can try for applying and adding some texture to your painting.

Let the first coat dry completely.

Apply the second coat, a little thicker then the first coat.

The drying of the paint is directly proportional to the amount of linseed oil used in the painting. The linseed also allows the color to give the lustrous touch to a painting which makes it more graceful.

The long lasting effect to the paint can be done by spraying some varnish. It is the final touch up done to the painting.

Varnishing an oil painting

Varnishing can be done for many reasons as

Protect the painting from dust or erosion.

Elevates the color, the contrast making it deeper. It heightens the intensity of color and pops up the light.

Unifies the reflectivity of the painting, as it can look consistent throughout.

Requirement:

Varnish, you need to choose the right varnish as it can also ruin the painting

Right sized qualified brushes, with no hair fall.

Steps:

Making sure you are in a dust free zone, and dust of the painting with the dry brush.

Keeping the painting on a flat surface, pour the adequate amount of varnish.

Use light even strokes and spread the varnish.

Apply 1-3 thin coats of varnish uniformly throughout. You need to also make sure you don’t over apply it, as you don’t want it to look extra glossier.

It can require almost 20-25 minutes to dry and set up, than you can put it back in the easel.

Cleaning the oil painting

Cleaning the oil painting can be a tricky business. You need to make sure that the painting is more than a year old, as the paint is not that perfectly dried well within a short period of time.

Requirement:

Adequate sized brushes

Spray bottle

Cleanser (colorless if possible)

Dish washing liquid (Only if there is less white color in the painting)

Clean towels

Steps:

Brush off the minute loose dust particles from the painting with a dry thick brush, which is not hard.

Lay a towel below the painting, as it can soak the excess water.

Spray some water on the painting

Test the side edges of painting by brushing off the water from there.

If it works well on the edges, you can start rubbing the water over the canvas with the brush.

Make sure you rub it over with only the tips of a brush.

Once you are done with it, put another towel on to the painting with gently rubbing.

After removing off the towel you can see the difference and the clean painting.

But even after that you want some extra intense cleansing, than you can spray some water and little cleanser as possible and brush off the brush equally cleaning all over the region unified.

Make sure you also clean the edges.

Spray some water to clean off the cleanser and then apply a towel again and wipe off the extra water and cleanser.

Let it dry out and it is done. The cleaned painting as you expected is been made with few steps.
